If he is the first owner and he is still under warranty, Chrysler should be
willing to re-paint it.

I had a similar problem with a Grand Am and talked to the regional rep, he
told me that if I was the
original owner that they would re-paint it. This of course is GM not
Chrysler, but I would hope they
would be as good about it.

Definitely go and talk to the dealer. If they don't give you a reasonable
answer, get in touch with the
regional rep.

My father asked me to write. He has a '91 Dakota V-8, 4x2 automatic.
 Excellent condition, 24,000 miles. It's gray and silver. A few months ago
big chips of paint started flying off the hood. It's also peeling up like
lace around the edges of the hood. Before he goes to the dealer he wants to
know if others have had this experience and what happened with the dealer.
