thanks for the email.. I had just purchased some of those molded rubber
"cheesy" flaps you talk about.. hadn't installed them yet, also they didnt
come with clips, just sheet metal screws :( Needless to say, I'll be returning
these.

I held one up to the rear wheel last night.. It was hard to see how much good
it was going to do since it was so short.

I've got a 96 SLT (5.2 ext cab) (4x4) so hopefully I can find some that
clip on to
the wheel moldings.
