So I did and this also posted :
Daily Auto Insider for: June 24, 1996
FEDS INVESTIGATE DAKOTA PICKUPS
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking
into complaints from some Dakota pickup truck owners that
when the vehicle is left in park, usually with the engine running,
it suddenly shifts into reverse.
The agency has received 71 complaints, according to its monthly
auto defect report. There have been three deaths and 14 injuries
among the incidents reported to the government or to Chrysler,
the report said. The investigation covers 154,393 Dakotas
equipped with automatic transmissions.
The NHTSA said a preliminary examination of information from
Chrysler did not turn up any evidence that the vehicles shifted
themselves. "However, it has also not been possible to draw any
firm conclusions that would otherwise explain the complaint rate
exhibited by these vehicles. As such, further investigation is
warranted," the agency said.
Haven't seen this mentioned on the list. Any comments?
