I'll have to register a vote in favor of the new sheetmetal. I like the
clean design of my truck, but I'll be honest in pointing out that it
looks very much more like a Chevy C/K series than anything else from the
Dodge barn. The redesign looks to address this with more of a family
resemblence.
The extra interior room will be appreciated, I'm sure, but the 3.5" in
overall width will exclude the truck from even more offroad venues. Then
again, I'm sure only a small minority of Dakota buyers (heavily represented
on this list, I'm happy to say) use that as a buy/nobuy decision point.
They ARE still a lot narrower than a fullsize (oversize) truck.
I've got to stop by the Dodge dealer and get that CDROM application...
