My thoughts on styling

First off I'd like to point out that nobody could expect the Dakota to keep
its present overall sytling and looks after a radical, big truck looking Ram
made Dodge a choice again to the average truck buyer and sent sales "through
the roof"(some dodge exec said this about this quarters double digit truck
growth).

As far as which is better, depends on which one you spent your hard earned
money on; I guess.

I like my 92, but I also like what I've seen so far of the new truck.

The present styling is the perfect, clean combo of full size Chevys((overall
body, rectangular whell wells, roof line, etc.)) and fords((headlamps, lines
in the sheetmetal towards the bottom, etc.)). The only real Dodge in the
present Dakota is that its well powered and that it has the trademark
crosshairs grill (oh yeah, my 92 has hard to miss reflective lettering on
the tailgate. You 94?? and newer guys have to put up with cheap Fordesq
decals). It'll take a lot to get me to ever give up my 92.

The new styling is Dodges way to draw evan more customers by filling out its
truck line that is supposed to be the bad boy on the big three block (why do
you think there's all this talk of a 360 cu in.). The only thing I don't
like about the new Dakota's looks is the reg cab's roof seems to slant. I
don't like that in a truck, but the rest of it looks great to me espically
the grill with blazer like headlamps. Slant seems to be a trend. The new
F150 has the slant too, but rest of it looks evan worse so who cares anyway.

this is just my .04$ (twice as much as I needed to say) so you can think of
it what you want.
