Here are the values out of the July 96 N.A.D.A Book (New England Addition);
Tradin Wholesale Retail
====== ========= ======
95 Dakota Club Cab Sport: 11475 10350 13850
Add for V8 700 700 700
The other Factory options you
mention are not considered
seperately as added value.
Actually I was suprised not to
see a deduction for not having
an auto tranny.
According to N.A.D.A mileage in the range of 20,001 to 25,000 is a wash
(neither adds or subtracts from value). You could add another $550 if you
had less than 7500 miles on the truck or subtract $525 if the mileage is
between 25,001 and 30,000.
When you look at book values and are selling as a private party you can only
realy expect to sell the vehicle for something between tradin and retail. A
dealer expects and gets at or near retail value. It is hard to put a value
on the after market parts you have added. If someone knows what they are
worth you can expect to gets some value for them, otherwise you might do
better to remove and sell seperately what you can. Also, banks will not
typically loan anymore than the wholesale value. So any considering the
vehicle will need to come up with the difference.

I may have to sell my beloved Dakota soon (maybe moving to the big city,
where anything bigger than a bike is impractical) and I was wondering if
anyone had an opinion on how much I should ask. One bank gave me a retail
of
$16,300 and the Credit Union gave me a retail of $15,900. Specs are: 1995
Club cab Sport 2wd, V8, manual, sure-grip 3.55, white, p/w, p/l, overhead
console, 60/40 front seats, a/c, light group, 22 gal. tank, rear abs.
Extras
include: custom air dam w/fogs, roll pan, 15x7 polished alum Am. Racing rims
w/Hoosier 235-60s and 255-60s, lowered 3" in front, 4" in back (done
correctly and expensively!), headers, cat back duals w/chrome tips, 14x3 K&N
w/chrome, racing wires/ platinums, dark tint all around, fiberglass
between-the-rails tonneau, Kenwood cass./10 cd changer, Clarion 150W amp,
2x10" Blues speaker box, all black interior items b&w fleckstone, all black
exterior items (front bumper, windshield wipers, side mirrors) painted white,
grey "egg-crate" of grill painted black, all stickers peeled.
I realize that there are people that are turned off of buying this truck by
my customizing, but there are at least as many people turned on by it. It
isn't supposed to be a work truck! Any opinions would be GREATLY
appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy
