&
& Thank you all very much for your advice regarding what I need in a new
& Dakota. I was just talking to my brother-in-law (a Dakota owner) in
& Vancouver and he swears he saw a 1997 go by. Maybe they're be in the
& Vancouver Island dealerships soon!
&
& I didn't get any comments regarding 4 wheel ABS. Any ideas?

I'd get the 4 wheel ABS (and I did get it). Especially if you will be
trailer pulling. Braking distances get really long, braking front/rear
wheel balance goes to hell. With ABS you always have steering control
and won't jackknife. There seems to be both really good and really bad
ABS systems on the market, and the Dakota system works pretty well.

The limited slip works very well, it locks up almost too easily. It
will deliver traction to both wheels in very low traction conditions.
It will also cause tire squeal when making tight turns if you accelerate
faster than very gently.

Always go for heavy duty springs, shocks, swaybars, etc.
