RE: Dual Exhaust for 93 Dakota

I have a 94 Dakota V8, I changed out my stock exhaust with a Flowmaster Cat back dual exhaust. Thats a 3 inch from the cat to the flowmaster, and dual 2 in pipes to the back. I am very happy with the performance increase, about 10-15 horses on my truck. I checked into headers, but found it would be too little bang for the buck. The Mopar chrome headers where $600 and only good for 5 horsepower. Evidently the stock manifolds work extremly well already. My advice, spend half the price of headers and buy the performance computer. Between the computer, the cat back exhaust, and a K&N Filter, I'm at 250 hp. Unfortunatly I had to upgrade wheels and tires to put the extra power to use.
Next is limited slip diff. That should drop my 1/4 mile time into the high 14's.

Hope this helps...

I don't have any answers for you, I have similar questions and maybe
a comment or two...

I am interested in finding out about options that may be available
for a legal dual exaust system, preferably with headers... Does anyone
sell such a system? Mopar? It seems to me that you should be able to
put two cataletic converters on a truck...

I too don't see the sense in dual exaust and one Cat, or even a 3"
cat back system...
