I don't think that there's a problem, my '92 which has had the lube
changed in the trans and transfer case twice had a lot of fine metal on
the magnets too. It's got 67+K miles on it and still works fine. Keep
changing the lube at regular intervals and it should last a long time.
Don't and you'll probably get to replace it or rebuild it.
The cruise won't normally engage below 35-40 mph or above about 80-85 mph.
