To replace the "speed/distance sensor" it's necessary to remove the speedo
cable at the transmission end not the speedo end. I can't imagine what
the dealer might have done to cause the speedo to go TU by disconnecting
the drive end of the cable. Replaced that sensor on my '92 with no
problem whatever.
