Like Kuk I've never experienced pinging on 92 Chevron or Texaco up and
down the West coast, or 92 Conoco in E Washington, Montana, Wyoming,
Idaho. It's possible that using fuels without a high level of detergent
could lead to combustion chamber deposits which would raise the
compression ratio.
