Have you checked the ball joints? If they're worn out you'll get that
sort of problem. According to the factory shop manual if you jack up the
truck with the wheel off the ground and with the jackstands under the
lower control arms (wishbones) as far outboard as possible with the upper
arms not touching the rebound bumpers. Pry under the center of the tire
with a pry bar and you shouldn't get more than 0.020" axial movement
between the knuckle and the suspension arm. Rotsa ruck!
