response: you said a mouthful! Of the list above, I can personally verify
#2,#3,and #4. Somehow the service department recieves the Chrysler 5 star
gold awards every year for customer satisfaction, but I've had nothing but
abominable horrid Luck with them. (Where do they find their satisfied
customers?
The paint is starting to cloud on the front fenders _and_ I am now on my
5th visit for my transmission problem (I posted help notices HERE but alas
no one else could help me either!-I shift into and out of overdrive
continuously after the truck warms up at high speeds. After the problem
occurs at high speeds, I can slow down and the problem still
remains.) The dealer put the DBRII diagnostics tester on and he said that
A) Engine was too cold too long - so he performed #1 below
B) Timing was jumping all over - so he performed #2 below
C) Vacuum was measuring too low - so he performed #3 below
To date they have changed :
1) Thermostat (..."it was bad, but we didn't think it would fix the problem,
we just changed it anyway"...) [didn't fix the prob]
2) SBEC (..."absolutely the cause of the problem"...)[didn't fix the prob]
3) EGR valve (..."After the SBEC, its the only possibility"...)[didn't fix
the problem]
4) Performed full tune up (..."This could be the problem...")[didn't help]

luckily after screaming at them both in person and on the phone, they
agreed not to charge me any labor (Big deal... they are into me for $300
in parts. Now they admit they don't know whats wrong (Duh?) I knew they
didn't know what was wrong before they started Shotgunning parts!
I don't mind paying for diagnostics, but I will not pay for blind shots
in the dark!

Any input from anyone would be appreciated, but the main intent of this post
was to sustantiate the Rude, Headstrong, Definitely for PROFIT actions of
the Service Department!
P.S. The Snow is really starting to fall today and I need my truck soon!
Please help me solve this problem!
