** High Priority **

I KNOW it's a loud noise, but I've got the same thing. True, it
sounds like a P-51 flying around in your engine bay, but it is
normal. I've had the same thing ever since I've been here in Ohio
(since 93), where it's nice and cold in the winter. To get rid of
the noise I just throw it in drive right after startup (I hardly ever
warm the thing up before I drive it), give it about 1/4 throttle, and
the noise just goes away in about 5 to 6 seconds (if that long).
Idling the truck for a while takes it a LOT longer to get rid of the
noise. Hey, does your truck seem kinda sluggish while it's making
that horrendous sound? Mine does too. And, when the noise quits, do
you get a LOT better throttle response? Yep, mine too. Hey, I KNOW
it's loud because I have to turn the radio up really loud to
overpower it, and I've got 900 watts of power up there with me in the
cab. So, either I go deaf from the music or deaf from the noise up
front.

NO, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND...

it is a LOUD noisenot to be confused with the noise of air being
sucked in
when i give a quick burst of throttle.

this noise is only when it is cold, and in drive(barely in reverse)
when i let it idle down the block

if i give it gas, it kind of stops
