i get that sound all the time when it is outside over night in the cold
it is kind of like a belt slipping

two weeks ago i looked at where it was comming from.

take off the air cleaner and look at the butterflies.

now put your finger where the two circles meet.
slide it back about 2 inches and down.
there is somthing like an extremely largs ball point pen pointing forward.
the part that would be the ball in the pen pushes in. and when it is in the
noise is made.

there is an electricle connection in the back and the piece comes out from
the back of the throtthe body

i took this out to see why it was maaking the noise. i polished the brass
plated piece and cleaned out all the carbon. this didn't help at all

i gave up
