Speaking of gov't tyranny... I imagine OBD III just might come up
during this hearing, though I'd check the meeting agenda on the
CARB web page. Anyone on the list in the El Monte area?

<forwarded message>

I have recently received information that the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) will be having a public hearing this Friday, March 7, regarding
implementation of SB501. This has to do with "accelerated retirement"
of older vehicles, otherwise known as the car crusher bill.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the CARB El Monte headquarters:
     California Air Resources Board
     Annex 4
     9530 Telstar Ave.
     El Monte, California

The previous workshop and public hearing by the CARB on this subject
was lightly attended, and CARB has responded to the request of various
people to hold hearings outside of regular working hours.

If you have questions or concerns on the issue of car crushing, be there!

Additional information is available from the CARB home page at:
     http://www.arb.ca.gov
and the notice is at
     http://arbis.arb.ca.gov/msprog/avrp/avrp.htm
