Well, I thought that I would mention that I will be joining
the ranks of the other fellow Dakota owners that have 'taken it to
the track' this weekend.

I got ahold of the people who run Carlsbad Raceway in
Carlsbad California... And Saturday they have grudge matches from
2pm to 6pm... $10.00 per vehicle, $10.00 per driver... Only
requirements are a helmet and long pants! I'm not really interested
in 'racing' anyone, just to get the #'s for my truck. They guy told
me that they give the reaction, 60', etc. etc. like other 'members'
have mentioned on this list, so I will be able to give good 'data'
back you guys/gals on how the truck does.

I have a few questions (I've never done this before, duh!):

        1) Do you have to , or do they have the 'burn out' staging
area?? And if so, is it really necessary for a truck?

        2) How should I setup my tire pressure??
I have BFG AT tires, and run them at max. pressure now
(for carrying sand/dirt loads of 1200#), which is
50 psi. I planned on keeping 50 psi. in the front and
airing down the rear to 30-32 psi...

I forgot who was 'racing' on this list recently, but they
mentioned 3rd gear for their runs @ 91 mph... I have played around
a bit and found 4th gear runs 95 mph @ 4700-4800 rpm on my truck
and still pulls...So I am stuck with a 1-2-3-4 shift run on the
1/4 mile (*At least that is what I am expecting).
