Well, I thought that I would mention that I will be joining
the ranks of the other fellow Dakota owners that have 'taken it to
the track' this weekend.

I have a few questions (I've never done this before, duh!):

        1) Do you have to , or do they have the 'burn out' staging
area?? And if so, is it really necessary for a truck?

(ANSWER) Yes, they will have the "water box" and NO, you do not have
to burn up your tires. In fact, I would recommend that you stay away
from the water altogether. Just do a short dry, burn.
*NOTE* Excessive spinning and the resulting increase in heat can make a
radial tire crystalize its tread surface, providing less adhesion. It's ok to
warm em up, just avoid smokin' em. It will not ruin your tires, but it could
ruin your day at the races.

        2) How should I setup my tire pressure??
I have BFG AT tires, and run them at max. pressure now
(for carrying sand/dirt loads of 1200#), which is
50 psi. I planned on keeping 50 psi. in the front and
airing down the rear to 30-32 psi...

(ANSWER) You are correct in leaving the fronts at 50psi. You may
however, want to go a little lower on the rears. Start out at about
24-26psi. With the A/T's, you should have a nice bulging sidewall at
about that pressure.
