The correct K&N p/n for the '97 Dakota's is 33-2084 (current Ram
appl.). Summit Racing has got 'em for $42.39 (p/n KNN-332084) and
Jeg's has 'em for $42.99 (p/n 555-33-2084). Neither charges shipping
but they both charge about $4 for handling.
I emailed K&N directly awhile back when I was deciding between the
stock panel replacement or an open element type. John, from K&N,
emailed back stating that the stock replacement on the Ram was a 8-10
hp gain and the open element FIPK was closer to 18 hp. Didn't want to
guarantee the same results because he claimed they had not yet tested
this on a '97 Dakota. If your area isn't super strict on emissions
(under hood inspections) I would definitely recommend setting up a
FIPK type arrangement. I couldn't be happier with the results on
mine.

Hi:
Whatis the going rate for a K&N filter (not FIPK)
for a '97 5.2l? One place I talked to said "$48". Is that pretty
reasonable?
Thanks.
