You'll find that the independent suspension on a Dakota 4x4 will get out of
alignment pretty quickly when used off-road. I've also heard that the roll-
out alignment checks ChryCo uses aren't the best.
In short, you're toed-out. Minor alignment adjustment will fix things up.
In an earlier post, you'd mentioned that your '97 handles like a sports car.
That won't be news to most list members. The torsion bar setup on the 4x4s
is very similar to Chrysler's design used on the Muscle Car -era Charger,
Challenger, Duster, and Barracuda. It does a very nice job of reducing
un-sprung weight -- and it's readily adjustable.
Oh, and I doubt the aerodynamics of a new Dak is any worse than an early
Charger!
