An open 10" filter base with 10x2.25 or 2.5 inch K&N would probably be
better than the K&N stock replacement in the stock filter cannister even
for a V8. Don't know how tall an element can be put on the Edelbrock 1208
base without hitting the hood. At least 2.25" tall filter will fit.
