I was a bit surprised to find out that the 97 Dakotas are not coming with
platinum spark plugs (the manual says to replace the plugs at 30K)  I'm
planning to replace mine with a good set of platinum ones, but I was
wondering what you guys recommended.  One place recommended Champion Truck
Plugs (which were the most expensive, and in most cases you do get what you
pay for) but I haven't really heard anything good or bad about these.  Any
opinions?

Brett,  I don't know about the plugs for a Dakota, Just got my 97 and haven't even  looked at the plugs.  But, I use Bosch Platinums in my 93 Saturn,  This set of plugs currently has 30k on them and I inspected them the other day, and they don't even look like they are worn at all.  Just a little dirty.  These have been great plugs, I am willing to pay the price for them.  Just my humble opinion,

Ryan
