Hey folks;
I just went out to the garage, popped the hood, removed the air cleaner
stud assembly, went thru my carburetor stash and got a stud that had 1/4x20
threads on both ends, bent it to match the original stud assembly, checked
the length, cut 1/4" of thread of one end, put a little locktite
(removable) on the threads that go in the TB with a locknut and reinstalled
the air box.
This all took about 8 minutes total. What the hell was CC thinking, KISS
(keep it simple stupid).
BTW, I am a professional engineer and when I see some of the things that
these corporate engineers come-up with I just shake my head.
jules; where do you work? I have been reading all the requests to you
since I have joined the list, but really haven't determined your company
origin. Most importantly, what kind of clone setup are you putting on the
'97. I just order an open element from a friend's auto parts yesterday to
try, need to get the proper K&N to fit.
