The original tires on my '91 V8 CC LE Dakota were XCH4 tires,
65 PSI max. Load range D. (215/75/15). When I replaced them with
BFG AT tires (same size) they came with a C rating... 1750# each..
x 4 tires= 7000 rating... Take away the trucks hefty 4300# (with me
and 22 gallons of gas) that leaves a 2700# load capability... The truck had
the 2000# option, so I had 700# to spare with the 'tires'
I went to replace the BFG AT's, and found the XCH4's are no
longer available. When I went to Sears I found the RoadHandler XCH4's
by Michelin... Hmm.. Same tread pattern as the spare I have (XCH4)
AND they were the same load range (D). I got the 4 tires, with a
Sears road hazard warranty, etc.. etc. $260.00 OTD... Too bad I sold
the truck 3 months later!!! :P
