I understand what Keith is lookin' for Scott. I was considering the
Gibson system as well. When I originally called them it wasn't even
available yet. From what I've read (haven't heard one in person
yet...got the abiblity to digitally record your Gibson?) the Gibson
isn't much louder than stock...just better tone. I need it loud! I
really want to exit both side before the rear wheel so *I* can hear
it! ;) The trick is to not go hog wild with pipe size. If you pull
the muffler and stick a 3" pipe on there it probably would sound like
shit. I'm not sayin' that when I pull my muffler I'm gonna like the
sound but as cheap as it is to find out I'll give it a try.

I'm serious about the recording though. If you could do it I don't
think there it a Gibson system .wav file on the Dakota site yet. I'd
love to hear one before I make my final decisions. I read a muffler
review awhile back done my two people....one in his mid twenties and
the other in his mid 40's....covered both ends of the spectrum. they
looked at volume and tone (I can't remeber if they discussed
performance) at idle, cruise rpm, and WOT. Based on what *I'm*
lookin' for the two highest rated mufflers were Dynomax's turbo tubes
(kinda like first gen. Camaro mufflers), and the Edelbrock's. If
enough people are interested I'd be willing to retype the article like
I did with the OBDII article on the Dakota site. Email me directly
and if enough are interested I'll do it.

Didn't you read my post about the Dakota I raced that had no muffler?
It sounded like shit. I hope your dual-pipe setup sounds better.
I really wish you'd look at some of the high-flow mufflers like
Gibson. They make such a sweet sound.
