I did some measuring this weekend and have my doubts about it fitting. I
measured from the center stud at the top of the throttle body back to the
firewall and had barely 5 1/2". If you go up about 3 1/2 or 4" and measure
back, it drops to about 4", this is where the rubber seal for the hood is.
Apparently the throttle body on a V8 sits farther ahead, if its centered on
the engine that makes sense. I'm thinking the only way to get a K&N FIPK
on a V6 is to go with the K&N 9 x 2.25 filter kit. I saw this one in the
Jegs catalog.

Keith, if you have to go to the 9" combo get the filter height from "carb
lip" to filter top from K&N
(knfilters@aol.com). If you used a air filter that's height allowed you to
fit a 2.5" filter you'd be getting
exactly the same filtered surface area as the 10"x2.25" combo I'm using.
The 9"x2.25" only slightly boosts
the surface area. K&N is good about returning emails and if you asked for
a 9" diameter filter in a 2.5" size
I'm sure they could accomodate ya. If you *do* go that route I'd recommend
looking for a different filter so
you're not wasting the 2.25" filter in their kit.

Hope this helps.
