'97 Radiator Information

Hi ya'll;

5.2L radiators; 52059147 Auto. Trans
                        52029146 Man. Trans, w/o Max. Cooling
                        52029148 Man. Trans, w/ Max. Cooling
The fluid capacities of all are the same according to the owners manual, as
for less cooling capacity with the auto rad., this is incorrect. (in the
situation described for Mr. Vieth) The side tank is bigger on the auto to
accommodate the tube windings that circulate the trany fluid through the
coolant to cool the trany fluid. If in fact Scott were to use the auto
trany radiator, I would surmise that the Auto trans radiator is the same
size as the manual trans with Max Cooling, as there is only one part no.
for the auto trans.

Please correct me if I misinterpreted something.

I do agree that if you have the auto trans, that you are asking the
radiator to do double duty, however the coolant transfers heat much more
efficiently than just air passing over an add-on trans cooler. The best
bet would be to splice in an add-on in conjunction with the factory rad.
cooling.
