As I understand it it simply move the rears to the fronts ( on the same
side only ).
I don't belive you're supposd to switch sides (which would reverse the
rotational directon of the tire). I just did mine yesterday at 5000 to help
alleviate the weird feathered wear I'm getting on my Wranglers. As for the
spare, unless you like driving around with 3 nice looking wheels and one
bare bones steel wheel I'd say check your spare when you rotate but keep it
out of the rotation. You could always buy an extra custom wheel and have
the spare tire mounted on that, then then use that as your spare.
