if you use a magnetic mount it will scratch the snot out of the
truck...you might be able to get some good clamps and clamp them to the
bed...going directly behind the bed is not good because you will be rear
ward directiona; meaning all your signal will be more prominat near the
rear of the truck....Wilson does make some nice antena's...the 2
fiberglass whips i have are K40's which i have always run all my
cars...always did like them...also after you buy your set up find
someone with a SWR meter (if your radio does not have one built in) and
adjust the antena's as low as you can (swr reading) best is a 1:1
ratio...the higher it is the more signal you are losing in your
coax...also too high of a SWR reading if used too long can burn out the
radio....(the finals)...i was hop[ing to find a hole under a plate or
something on my 94 but no dice...maybe the 97's will be different...i
just didn't want to run 20 feet of coax to the engine and then through
the firewall....oh and one other thing....any excess coax you may
have...don't bunch it up or loop it around itself...it can create havok
on your swr reading...
