A side step of the Viper discussion that I started,
Today at lunch, I had a 3 way drag... Me, and 2 other
Dakota's... It was pretty funny. One was a '92 CC LE
with a whopper chrome tip clamped on...And no muffler
(the truck had a shell worse than mine, and it was a beater
IMO compared to other proud Dakota owners... And the other
truck was a newer '94-'96 long bed, but with a Utility bed on,
and ladder rack... All V8... At the first light I took the
blue ('92) 1st-2nd up to the speed limit, and cruised.. The next
light he pulled along side me, then the guy with the Util bed
pulled along side him (3 lanes of V8's!)... I had the advantage
of 2500 rpm 'stall' (*clutch pushed in!!*).. Green light, a little
tire spin, and the blue ('92), me, and the LB...all left exactly
the same... 2nd gear I pulled ahead of the '92, and the LB
was close behind me (2 lanes over)... 3rd gear, '92 gave up,
and the LB was just ahead of the '92... Red light...
I turned left, the '92 went straight, and the LB went right...
We all waved...
I laughed all the way back to work...
BTW: James, this was 'CONVOY'... So you know
what this street looks like...
