it all depends on what you want to do to it and the model it is....most
radios have a VR or variable resitor on the board that will change the
output watt power....the only thing is you need to find which one and
you need a watt meter...other radios there will be a coil in there that
when you spread the coil apart will change the power output...some will
even scream if you play with both....also some radios you can add extra
channles in....i have a uniden PC 76xl with 120 channels...it goes 40 up
and 40 below the normal 40.....then if you have a sideband radio (also
depending on model) you can unlock the clarifer to allow you to "slide
between channels" there is so much that can be done it all depends on
what you want to do..let me know what radio you are thinking of buying
than i can be of more help...
