I saw that as well, and was actually wondering if it would tell me if my tailgate were open or not. After noticing that it didn't work (it lights up after all), I did some searching around the end of the box looking for possible hook-ups for the switch, alas, none existed. Not quite sure why you'd need it, except if you had a solid tonneau cover or roll-lock cover and couldn't see your tailgate.

Has anyone noticed the unused idiot light in the 97 dash that says "Endgate Open" or something to that effect? Humm, wonder what that's going to be used for in a truck???

I know what you mean Phil, I was thinking of getting a Durango myself in a
few years, especially if I get married because there's no way in h#!! I'm
going to buy a minivan, or get rid of my Dak, so I'll buy that for the
wife, and of course I'd drive it pretty frequently myself to keep miles of
the Dak. I think Durango owners should be own list also, because it will
be like a brother of the Dak, so most of the discussions will still apply
to it, because all the engine, and transmission related items will be the
same. Just my opinion.
