        He knows how to shift? I'd hope so if he has a 5 speed... I do ok, and
up until last week never missed a shift... Now I am in the habit of
starting out in
2nd gear! (I just picked up a '69 Jeep--and it's a 3 speed...) Then when I
drive the
jeep I tend to backup when I want to go forward! (1st on Dakota=rev on the
Jeep).

        Finally have a vehicle with a lower 1st gear than the Dakota...
The jeep has to be in low range, but it is about 2 mph slower @ idle than
the Dakota.
This weekend the Dakota will tow the jeep via the infamous U-haul
trailer... I plan
on running 65 mph the entire route... Mileage will follow on the 390+ mile
trip.

        Hey, my Dakota still chirps 3rd gear at least!
