I do not know about Jacobs Omni Pack but last year at the drag races there
was a guy with a 96 that put the Jacobs Ultra Team on his and lost about 2
tenths. He tried several things that Jacobs suggested but still lost 2
tenths, he took it off and sent it back and was going to get a MSD but he
moved south and I do not know how he made out. I helped him change it back
over at the drags (had to regap the plugs besides the changes) and he got the
2 tenths back. I use the MSD 6A but have lost a tenth or two since putting it
on ??? but I have regapped the plugs to .040 and have not had any high end
missing even running NOS where before gapped at .032 I did have a occasional
miss. I also believe it has better throttle response but I have yet to
achieve a better ET than before I installed it.
As for NOS, NOS does not have a set up for any Dakota newer than 93, they
have worked on trying to make one but too many problems with Computer and
fuel regulators. MPI has a kit which includes a different intake manifold and
a plate system for the 94 - 97 Daks, I do not know who's it is or how it
works. I have the NOS kit 5178 on my 93 Dakota and it works well. It is a 125
- 130 HP kit and is designed for the stock Dakota. The only additional item I
needed to do was to install a shift kit in Tranny as the tranny became the
weak point. I have run several bottles with only one problem and that was due
to a faulty ignition component. Best time with out NOS has been a 14.96 at 93
mph and best with was a 13.33 and 103 mph. The NOS kit is a very good kit
with very good instructions and NOS tech support is also very good but
sometimes hard to reach. If you get a NOS kit and follow direction to the "T"
you should have no problems..
