John,
I've got a 93 LE and the paint peeled off the right rear fender behind
the tire 2 years ago and they repainted it. . ..they didn't put any
PRIMER under the paint,. . .but they repainted it (it was rusting in 6
months, but I just fixed it myself). The rear edge of the hood has been
peeling for some time now, but I just keep putting touchup on it. I took
it to the dealer about the hood last year and he basically told me to
stick it in my ear. He said to me "Hey, I'd have to pull that cowl off,
then the hood, and I'm not going to fix any dents that you made, either.
And all this would cost me at least $1,500 in paint and labor." Sooooo.
. ..he was more worried about profit sharing than he was about having a
satisfied customer. To say the least, it's still peeling and I've never
been back to the dealer I bought the truck from. Maybe you'll have
better luck, but this guy really didn't seem to give a hoot.
