If you already have rust present and it hasn't gone thru yet you still have
time. You need POR15. Paint Over Rust. This stuff is kick A$$!
Complete metal prep kit. Takes some elbow grease but this stuff converts
existing rust, stops it cold, and forms ceramic type barrier (must be
overcoated as its UV sensitive) that the moisture will never get thru. A
buddy of mine just got a trunk kit for his '69 Camaro and now swears by the
stuff. If yer interested I'll get the info and you can send for a free
