On flat terrain this is very true but if you live in anything but level
terrain the economy factor becomes less. I know in our area there is very few
places you can go without hills and my experiences have been that there is
very little difference in economy but a lot of improvement in performance by
going to the lower gears. My only choice would be 3.92. With the lower gears
there is a lot less shifting (auto or 5 spd) and less lugging on the engine..
