Just picked up the September issue of Off Road magazine. They install an R/T package on a '97 V8
Dakota. Heres a few things they said:
1)It will deliver as much as 50 additional crankshaft horsepower and advise installing all the
components as a complete system.
2)The tri-y header (part #4876251) is 3/8-inch-thick steel flanges and 14-gauge mild steel tubing
with .083-inch wall thickness.
3)The free-flow Mopar air filter (part #5249605).
4)The muffler (part #4876253) was chosen out of 9 tested. This muffler is a single (16-gauge mild
steel with a .065-inch wall thickness) canister with 3-inch inlet and outlet tubes. No fiberglass
packing.
5)Mopar replacement engine controller computer. RPM range increases from 5,100 to 5,900 rpm. They
say the engine will require 92 octane fuel.
6)They say we can look forward to seeing these goodies by Mopar Performance around the end of
September '97.
Thats it from here.
