One full time hot wire, one ground, and then wires in between the 2 wires
(power and ground) that feed the coil. Really simple installation. It
takes more time deciding where to mount the box than the wiring does.

You're right on the money. Distributer is rotated by a gear interface
with the camshaft.

These were used on pre-electronic ignition vehicles. No points in your
distributer.

A good trick to keep from mixing up plug wires is to take 8 wooden spring
type clothespins and mark each one with a number from one to eight. Clip
one on each wire. Firing order for cap is cast into intake manifold at front.

Yep, you can do this. Just remember to keep your firing order straight.
You can mix up some wires and the truck will run.....just not real well.

You seem to know what yer doin'. Considering an MSD install and some wires?
