A friend and I were perusing the Crane specs on their street legal cam
replacements. This is for his 89 Dodge 1 ton but would still be
applicable to the 318 in a Dakota. Anyway, the CompuCam was less
aggressive than the stock cam, in other words the Crane specs were
wimpier than a stock cam. So before you shell out the bucks for a
Crane cam compare the specs to your stock cam. If the lift,
advertised duration, overlap or duration at .050 is less than your
stock cam then your not really going to gain anything, unless the loss
of cash in your wallet is sufficient enough to affect the weight of
the truck. :)
