I have been called crazey by many (including the salesperson that took my
order). I ordered it NJ, and told the salesperson that if I did not have
to run the heat at full in the summer, that would be A/C enough for me.
(All of my previous cars have had a bad overheating problem.) I will admit
that there are the 2 or three days a year that A/C might be nice, I usually
don't mind at all. Part of the reason for my choice was that I was on a
verrrrry tight budget, and I needed the CC.
I had the chance to drive a RAM 1500 4x4 (same color - dk green) for a week
with A/C. I ran the A/C all the time, but was not as cool as my DAK w/out
A/C. Before you all tell me I'm really crazey, let me explain. I drive
with the driver's window rolled all the way down, have a sunroof, rear
slider window, and dark tinted (20% and less) windows. The RAM had none of
this, except the open window. The rear sliding window really helps by
rushing air on the back of your neck. BTW, I have a cap on the bed which
helps deflect air into the cab.
As far as the local speed limits go, the "in-town" highways are posted at
55, but are travelled by most at 70; while the "out-of-town" highways are
posted at 75, and I thank Detroit for not using the 85MPH speedometers
anymore :-)
In my last post, I mis-spoke: I have the standard 1450 lb payload (not 1250).
Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my new Big O AT tires?
On a slightly different thread: "V-6 being slightly underpowered", I have
one comment for you: "Have you driven a Ferd 4 cylinder Ranger lately?"
All for now.
