Hey folks,

Here is a hard lesson my friends and I learned too late.

For those of you who use your truck to launch a boat, you should seriously consider
having a differential vent tube made up for the rear end. You see, there is a small
vent in the top of the pumpkin, and for some reason, the Dodge boys opted not to
put an extension on it as most other manufacturers do.

The lack of this extension cost a friend of mine a little over a grand last year
to replace the rear in his 90 RamCharger.

You see, if the pumpkin submerges, the little vent will allow water in thereby fouling
the lube, ruining the clutches ect. ect.

The fix is simple, we just installed a nipple and 4 feet of 3/8th fuel line routed
towards the cab and attached to the bed.

My Nissan had a factory installed vent with a 1 way valve on the end of the tubing,
so these valves may be available somewhere.

My babbling 2 cents.
