The Time Has Come!

All,
Looks like today is the day! Tonight after my wife comes home from work
we are heading out to Taylor Tx. to have a talk and number crunching
session with a sales man, maybe even order one. I've weighed all the
options between the Dakota and the Ram and the Dakota has won. I figured
that you folks would appreciate that ; ) The bottom line came to the
fact that the Ram is wider than my garage door and I want to park it
inside. My wife is also a little partial to the Dakota and I can't
exactly blame her. I've been looking at the Club Cab 4X2 and the 4X4 and
after checking out insurance rates have decided on the 4X4. It will be
Intense Blue with either the Agate interior (to hide dirt easier) or
Mist Gray (a little cooler in summer). It will have the Sport package
built up almost to the Sport +. We don't want bucket seats. they get in
the way when trying to sit close
while driving ; ). We are also not interested in the sliding rear window
as the truck will have a hard tonneu and sliders are extremely easy to
open from the outside. I'm also going to have them throw on the Aluminum
Nerf bars and toss in the full Mopar exhaust, including headers. And
yes, of course it will have the 5.2 and per my wife, the auto tranny.
Hey, I'm getting a new truck, she wants to drive it too and maybe I'm
ready to stop shifting after 10 years in the same vehicle. Dont get me
wrong, I love running through the gears on a back road up in the Texas
Hill Country, but for regular everyday driving, I'm getting used to the
idea of an auto. I'll let you know how it ends up.
John
