I see your point...but disagree. I think synthetics are great...longer life
and better for the engine. I have no problem with leaks, until I decided to
clean the insides out with Marvel Mystery Oil. I DID clean the insides
out...and caused leaks. Only problem I had.
I think you may have been looking at bad info...money talks sometimes in
these "tests". I have also heard that the difference between oil at 4,000 and
8,000 is exactly the same. Oil starts breaking down with heat and impurities
injested into the system...not mileage. I have started changing my oil when
it gets dark...opaque. Which is about 7,000 miles. I also have retrofitted my
car with a truck filter...for more cleaning space.
