With my 5 spd, I pull up to line, clutch in,
1st gear, right foot on brake... 1st light (tune radio),
2nd light (adjust side mirrors), 3rd light 3/4 throttle &
release clutch 3/4...then full throttle/no clutch...
1.5 seconds later shift into 2nd (push clutch in, let up
on gas, clutch out, floor gas pedal)... Then repeat for
3rd, then at 1/8 mi. shift into 4th gear...
15.4 seconds, 90.4 mph... My 60' times suck,
because I don't 'rev' the engine and drop the clutch; I
merely rev to 2000 rpm then let clutch to 3/4 out in
mild fashion, then all the way... Then hammer down...
(I think a 10 mph rolling start would be a better race
for me 8)
