        It's called the SBEC ('da computer brain'). The pre- OBD-II trucks
had a 105-110 limit (*can remember, only hit it once...or twice, or three
times...:P)
Your OBD-II equipt Dakota must have a lower speed govenor.

        Once I droped in my MP SBEC (Mopar Performance Brain), the speed
governor goes away, and the rev limiter jumps from 5500 rpm to 6200 rpm
(though
anything above 4800 is a waste of breath, unless you've got a wild
cam/etc/etc..)
Try your cruise control above 85... won't work. Only catches, then drops
to 85 mph...
I guess 85 isn't a 'cruising' speed ! !

        I've had my Dakota to 4500 rpm in 5th (approx. 127-131 mph)... Too fast,
too scarey, won't do it again... BUT it was a rush, to say the least.
