Hmmm, my '96 (OBD-II) makes a strange noise at about 105-110mph,
and now that I think of it, seems to stop accellerating. I always
thought it was because of the infamous dakota "brick aerodynamics", but
could this be a governor??

Hmmm, was it too scary because of the speed itself or that speed in
a Dakota? I went to 140 in my VR-4 and besides the dashes in the road
turning solid, you wouldn't know you were doing any faster than 70 or 80...
:-) I wonder what it would take to make those speeds comforatable in a Dak?
Lower it a few inches, add some low profile 255+ Z rated tires, and a rear
stabilizer bar? Ummm, not that I'd ever go that fast, of course. ;-)
I'd only use it for driving friends and family to the emergency room.
