In response to questions on cleaning aluminum wheels, I asked my buddy what
he does on his ZX-7 motorcycle. When he bought it, the wheels were painted
black. To improve its appearance, he had the paint removed from the
outermost portion of the rim, down to the bare aluminum. He uses
*Mother's* aluminum wheel cleaner, and, when they get oxidized (they use a
lot of road salt in our NJ winter), he uses 1000 grit sandpaper to clean it
off before using the *Mother's* again. They're a lot of work, but they
look great.
