You are correct, the SBECs are pre-'96, and the JTECs are post-'96. As
far as your question regarding mods, not sure I quite understand, but
since the only JTECs available are for the '96 5.9L Ram engine (not even
available in a Jeep, as of '96 anyway) I don't know if mods for SBECs
will work with JTECs.
