Have your rotated them on a regular basis? I.E. every 5000 miles?
I got 26000 out of my Goodyear Invectra tires, before one blew out (still
had
50% tread--even with about a dozen long smokey 2-wheel burnouts). I
probably
could have run 35000 easily. The tires were junk, but should have gone
longer.
My BFG's got 43000 on them, still have 50% tread left (and I have done
quite
a few burnouts with them--these are BFG AT tires too, not BFG street
orientated
tires). I still have the BFG's, but got a free set of '97 Dakota steel
rims and put
255-60-15's on those (Performer tires-- GT Qualifier clones). I have a '95
Dakota,
with a set of '97 rims on it now. The 255-60-15's run about 1 mph faster
than
215-75-15's, so your mileage won't be affected too bad. (25000 miles a year
actual, will probably read about 26500 miles on your odometer). The tires
rub
a little at full lock on my truck (rubs the rubber inserts in the fender
wells),
but my 215-75-15 BFG AT's did too.

You've got 235's stock? Then the 255-60-15's will probably
add about 2.5-3 mph more to your speedo than with my 215's that
I had stock.
